Wessex Burley Slice

You got a hankering for a deep bodied tasting burley with enough vitamin (n) to pop your eyeballs wide open?

Try some Wessex Burley Slice!

They come in a tin as tightly packed flakes topped with an sweet honey
/ licorice flavor.

The flake rubs out easily and is not too moist to prevent a good charring light.

Once lit, you quickly become pre-occupied with the deep nutty taste that a good burley will give.

The flavor lasts to the very bottom of the bowl.

I must warn that it does give a decent nicotine slap to those who may not enjoy that.

A must have if you enjoy a quality burley.

Long overdue TAD order placed today!

Its been a while since I've caved and submitted to a bad case of TAD, but here's my order to smokingpipes.com:

Ordered (1) tin each of :
Cornell & Diehl: Billy Budd 2oz
McClelland: Matured Virginia: No. 25 50g
Orlik: Golden Sliced 50g
Two Friends: Heritage 2oz
Wessex: Burley Slice 50g

Now I gotta wait for the order....

Hope you all are well.

Just like a bad case of some sort of fungus, I keep showing up now and then,

The world gets crazy, ya hang on for all you have, and when things settle down again, you try to get back to your roots.

To me, this place is my roots. I hope you all are well. I have a lot of perusing the sight to do.

I am well, the wife and kids are great.

I still smoke 2-3 bowl a day and am actively chasing Kaywoodies on eBay as well as a sweet Savinelli Dry System that is one fabulous smoke.

I will post pics soon as I am proud as heck of these beautiful pieces of briar.

Stopping in to say hello

Boy, have I missed this site.

Lost my internet access at work, and then the home computer decided to take draw its last breath just before Thanksgiving.

Hello to all and feel fortunate to be back on line and be able to wish you all a very happy and blessed Holiday Season.

Now I'm off to doing a lot of catch up reading.

Take care all!

Hand Carved Pipe Rest

This dude is my 2nd carving and so far, I'm real happy with the detail on his nugget.

Carved out of a 4"x4"x6" chunk of basswood. So far, all fingers and blood levels intact (for the most part...).

Kaywoodie display converted to pipe cab

Hi all,

Some of you may remember earlier this year that I scored a Kaywoodie Display unit from eBay for $15.

The problem with it was that it was a fixed front unit, where the back was removeable. It had a fixture for a small light in the top of it as well, but the wires were cut.

I tossed back and forth the thought of making the fixed front a door, and then build some simple racks inside with cove moulding to put my Kaywoodie pipes in. Part of me didn't want to alter what could be an heirloom case. The other part of me wanted something useful as well as additional pipe storage.
