I have come across an old pipe that probably belonged to my dad. It appears unused and has a maker's mark, but I can't seem to make it all out and would like to know what it is.

It has: MAR -- something - then Man, with an arrow going through the entire word. Underneath that is says: Imported Briar. I can't figure out what's in between the Mar & the Man. A letter, symbol -- whatever it is, I can't make it out and can't seem to find a maker's name for it through research and hoping someone here might recognize it. With the arrow going through the word, it almost makes it look like a fish. I have been able to find some info on other pipes I have -- Dr. Grabow, Williard, Savoy, etc -- just can't find out what Mar Man is.

That's it! Thanks! Half of the X is very light and these old eyes couldn't make it out.

Youre quite welcome.

Many of those older names were fine smokers. Good luck!
