Picked that up. Absolutely love the shape, and I wanted a P-Lip after trying my friends Kilarney 05. My buddy picked up a Sav Opera 603.
That'll be it for the timebeing...hopefully!
Understandable. I tried one last night and had 2 bowls in it, I was very, very relieved. I'll add a rubber/softy bit for good measure, though!
Might have spoken too soon. They may not be able to find one. Oi. Searching for an Aran just in case...
Nice grain and finish, the Aran's are close and I have three of them. P-lip's I think are a love-it, or leave-it thing, not an aquired taste. I use my two because I have them, not because I really enjoy them. My Killarney dubby is spectacular after a wax and smokes great while being extremely comfortable in the hand and mouth.
I do not believe there are any losers in the Pete line-up, but there are better pipes. My Pete's get used regularly.
If you hurry, there are still some Pete SPD's left, you won't be disappointed.
I ended up getting an Aran. There was a LOT of miscommunication between myself and P&C, so I ended up going with an Aran 306 at Iwan Ries. Little down that I won't have the Kildare's grain, but still very excited about the pipe. My first sitter, my first pipe with metal work (well, the BC Negoita has some form of ring, but it's more of a washer than anything lol), and my first p-lip.
I like the Kildare finish, I got a 606s (straight tapered pot) on a flea market. Impressive grain. And mine come with a fishtail stem, I'm not a great p-lip fan. I don't mind the looks, but my teeth disagree.
